Friends of Families, Inc

I was inspired to establish Friends of Famillies, Inc. to help others because of my mother's influence and example to me and many others who knew her.  She was diagnosed with leukemia and lived over 30 years past the time she was given only six months.  As her caregiver, I understand the challenges families face caring for a loved one with a long-term medical condition.  Mom's faith, prayers, and unrelenting spirit gave her strength and courage to continue to defeat the odds!

 

Having been with her every step of the way, and currently, with my Dad, I understand the importance of having one’s “affairs in order” in advance before an illness occurs.  Protecting the rights of your loved ones and ensuring their wishes are met is important for peace of mind for families.

 

Studies show that nearly 70 percent of Americans haven’t spelled out how they want their future medical care and end-of-life decisions to be handled,[1] and only a third of sick patients are expressing their end-of-life wishes.[2]
